I totally agree; although I fail to do this al the time. I'll admit this: I'm an ass. I don't RSVP because I have a fear of commitment. What if something better comes up? I just don't want to deal with it.

Hmmmmm.....I never got an evite. Otherwise I would have RSVP'd. And I think to RSVP is only polite. Although I sadly have been known to RSVP and then have to cancel at the last minute. But I usually try to make sure I properly RSVP.

Good point. I even RSVP 1,500-mile-away facebook events. I wouldn't dare ignore something local, planned by someone I knew.

Oh, Shea. You are so right. I have been on both sides of this one. Aggravated because people are not responding to my evites in a timely manner, and then weeks later, not responding to evites in a timely manner myself. Maybe it is part of the Midwestern mentality. We don't want to disappoint or say no, so we are just rude instead. I, for one, vow to get better.

If you send me an eVite to your next party, I promise to respond "no". That way you feel like I care, I feel loved...but we don't have to go through all that "meeting in person" stuff that's so awkward. :)

AMEN. After just planning a wedding I can definitely agree with that. JUST SEND IN THE CARD - A NO IS FINE TOO - JUST RESPOND.

And with the evite thing I find myself more angry because there are those people (one that did this for my bachelorette party and I found it highly annoying and somewhat rude) that look at it repeatedly and still don't respond. It's like - dude - I can tell you looked at it every other day - you are an ass for not responding.

Dang - can you tell you struck a nerve with me here?!
